What Is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle energy healing practice that promotes relaxation, balance, and overall well-being. Originating in Japan, Reiki works with the body’s natural life-force energy to support healing on physical, emotional, and energetic levels.

Many people describe Reiki as deeply calming—like entering a quiet space where the body and mind can rest.

How Reiki Works

During a Reiki session, the practitioner lightly places their hands on or just above the body. The intention is to support the flow of life-force energy so that the body’s natural healing processes can function more freely.

Rather than forcing change, Reiki encourages the body to return to its own natural state of balance.

People often experience:

  • Deep relaxation

  • A sense of warmth or gentle energy flow

  • Emotional release

  • Increased clarity and calm

Each experience is unique, but many clients leave sessions feeling lighter and more centered.
